Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Slow Sunday Software LLC ("Slow Sunday Software", "we", "us") handles information in the apps we publish and on this website. The short version: your data stays yours. Our apps don't ask you to create an account, we don't run servers that store your data, and we never sell information about you to anyone.

1. Overview

This policy applies to every app published by Slow Sunday Software and to slowsundaysoftware.com. Our apps work without sign-up or registration, and we do not operate backend servers of our own — so the things you create in our apps are never uploaded to us. The only usage information we ever receive is the anonymized analytics and optional crash reports described below. The complete list of places our apps talk to over the network is short: our analytics provider, and — only if you have turned sync on — your own cloud storage (iCloud on Apple devices, Google Drive on Android). Nothing else leaves your device.

2. Data we don't collect

We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal information. We don't show ads, we don't use advertising or tracking SDKs, and we never sell or rent data about you — we have nothing to sell.

3. Your content and sync

Everything you create in our apps is stored on your device. If an app offers sync, it works through your own cloud account — never through servers of ours — so your data can follow you to your other devices without us ever holding a copy.

On Apple devices, sync uses Apple's CloudKit service and your personal iCloud account. That data lives in your private iCloud storage under your Apple Account, is encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest, and we have no way to access, read, or share it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can stop syncing at any time by turning off iCloud for the app in your device settings, and you can remove an app's data by deleting your content in the app or deleting the app itself.

On Android, sync uses Google Drive and stays off until you explicitly connect it in the app. When you do, we request a single permission — Google's "drive.appdata" scope — which grants access only to a private folder reserved for our app. We cannot see, open, or list anything else in your Drive. Inside that folder the app keeps a compact document holding the things you have created in the app and its important preferences — plus, in apps that support attaching photos to your entries (such as Ratekeeper's watch photos), those photos as well. Never account details, and never anything you didn't put into the app yourself. These files are invisible in the Drive interface, unreadable by any other app, and count against your own Drive storage quota. You can stop syncing on a device from the app's preferences, or revoke our access entirely in your Google Account's security settings at myaccount.google.com — when you revoke access, Google Drive deletes the synced data.

Our apps' use of information received from Google APIs — and its transfer to any other app — adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Separately from sync, Android's standard device backup may include an app's data. If you have backup enabled on your device, the app's data and preferences are backed up to your own Google account along with the rest of your device. That's a platform feature Google operates — not something we run or can see — and you can manage it in your device's system settings.

4. Apple Health and Health Connect

Some of our apps can record completed sessions — meditation sittings, for example — to Apple Health (HealthKit) on iOS or Health Connect on Android. This is optional and gated behind a system permission, which you can grant during onboarding or later from the app's preferences. The connection is write-only: our apps never read anything from your health store, not even the entries they created. Your health data never reaches us and is never sent anywhere by our apps — it stays in Apple Health or Health Connect under your control, and you can revoke the permission at any time in your device's health settings.

5. Analytics (TelemetryDeck)

We use the privacy-friendly analytics service TelemetryDeck (provider: TelemetryDeck GmbH, Von-der-Tann-Str. 54, 86159 Augsburg, Germany) to analyze how our apps are used. The data processed by TelemetryDeck is completely anonymized and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about personal information.

The same setup runs in our apps on every platform we ship on, sending identical events on iOS and Android. Analytics are built into the apps, and there is currently no in-app setting to turn them off.

The following data is collected, among other things:

What is not stored:

The source code of the TelemetryDeck SDK is completely open source and available on GitHub. Further information on the exact data processing by TelemetryDeck can be found in TelemetryDeck's privacy policy and its privacy FAQ.

6. Crash reports and diagnostics

If you have opted in to sharing analytics or diagnostics with app developers in your device settings, Apple (for our iOS apps) or Google (for our Android apps, through Google Play) may provide us with crash logs and diagnostic information. These reports help us find and fix bugs; they are aggregated or anonymized by the platform before we see them and do not identify you personally.

7. Purchases

Some of our apps are paid or offer optional in-app purchases. All payments are processed by the store you got the app from — Apple through the App Store, Google through Google Play — and we never see or store your name, payment details, or billing information. The only purchase-related information available to us is the anonymous, aggregated sales reporting those stores provide to developers.

8. Our website

This website is a simple static site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. Its pages load their typeface from Google Fonts, so when a page loads, Google receives your IP address as part of serving the font files; that request is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.

9. Children's privacy

Our apps are not directed at children, and — as described above — we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.

10. Changes to this policy

If our practices change — for example, if a future app works differently — we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes, we'll do our best to call them out in the relevant app's release notes.

11. Terms of use

Your use of our apps is also governed by our Terms of Use and, depending on where you downloaded them, by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement or the Google Play Terms of Service.

12. Contact

Questions about this policy or about your data are always welcome. You can reach us through our contact page.

13. Who is responsible, and your rights

The controller responsible for the processing described here is:

our contact page

If you are in the EU, the UK, or somewhere with comparable law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how it is processed, and to receive it in a portable form — and you can complain to your local data protection authority at any time, without contacting us first. In practice there is usually nothing for us to act on, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise: we hold no accounts and no copy of your content, and the analytics we receive are not linked to anything that could identify you, so we cannot match a request to a person — and the law does not require us to collect more data about you in order to try. Retention follows from that: we keep nothing beyond what is described above, and the analytics and crash reports that do exist are held by TelemetryDeck, Apple and Google under their own retention rules rather than ours.
